2004:  1,500 School uniforms distributed in Akon

Akot, Executive Director of JumpStart Sudan, and his wife, Mary Kuel, along with Debra Ross, JumpStart Sudan President and International Missions Director at Indian Creek Community Church, and Janis Ricker, JumpStart Sudan Treasurer, made the annual mission trip to Africa. Akot, Mary and Debra went on to Akon, while Janis worked to develop a partnership with a nonprofit in the area.

The mission group distributed 1,500 school uniforms, but there were still 183 who went without. They gave 50 T-shirts to the two church choirs. Twenty Bibles, 65 Bible study books, pens and notebooks were given to be used in Bible training. They dispensed 500 blankets and 500 mosquito nets to the sick and elderly.

The doctor was presented with a little over $20,450 dollars worth of medicine and medical supplies donated by Heart to Heart International and contained in two large duffle bags. He talked to Akot about what he would need to operate a health clinic.
