  2011:  Providing basic humanitarian aid

In February, the JumpStart Sudan board lost friend and former member Dennis Albers. To honor his life and the contributions he made, all of the JSS projects for 2011 are dedicated to his memory. Dennis was particularly committed to providing basic humanitarian aid to Akon and was instrumental in the building of the clinic there.

Emergency medicine delivered

In April, Board Member Mary Arech hand-carried into Akon approximately $2,000 worth of emergency supplies of antibiotics, meningitis meds, cough syrup, anti-malarials, anti-diarrheals and Oxytocin.

These critical supplies arrived, serendipitously, on what would have been Dennis' birthday.

Dennis Albers, friend and former Treasurer of JumpStart Sudan, was committed to providing basic humanitarian aid to Akon, Sudan.
