Debra Ross is President of the Board of Directors for JumpStart Sudan. She was
a founding member of Indian Creek Community Church in Olathe, KS and served
there as missions director for 18 years. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree
from Anderson University in 1978. The highlight of her college years was
studying in Mexico for a semester. She is the mother of a teenage daughter and
a grown son.
Debra has had a heart for the world since she was a young girl. Her
passion is to help hurting and forgotten people. After becoming
aware and praying for the needs in Sudan for several years, she met
Akot. She soon became his “American” Mom. She encouraged the
formation of JumpStart Sudan as a nonprofit and traveled to Akon,
Sudan in 2004 and
2008.
She values the giftedness that each board member brings to the team.
Debra looks forward to seeing Akon, Sudan move from a point of
needing humanitarian aid to a place of community development. |
