Janis Ricker, Board Member |
|
Janis Ricker met
Akot Arec when she volunteered to help fundraise for the second JumpStart Sudan mission to southern Sudan in 2003. Janis made her
first trip to Africa in 2004, visiting Kenya and Uganda.
Janis currently works as the Operations Manager for a nonprofit
organization, Sudan Sunrise (www.sudansunrise.org),
which was founded in early 2006. The mission of Sudan Sunrise is to
facilitate reconciliation and Christian mission by furthering the
work of Sudanese Christians coming to the aid of their former
persecutors, the Muslims of Darfur, and extending Christian
ministries of relief, development, evangelism, and discipleship
throughout Sudan.
Janis worked in the securities industry for over 20 years before
joining Sudan Sunrise. |
